Scope

Renovate an office space that spans two floors in a landmark building.  Requirements including office furniture, floor plans, wall treatments, flooring, finishes, and specifications for new construction.

Challenge

PERISTYLE was hired to provide an end-to end solution for the organization’s effort to upgrade its office. To accomplish this task, Peristyle furnished and updated thirty offices, eight administration areas, two conference rooms, a presentation area, a kitchen, a fax/copy room, storage rooms, a connecting stairwell, corridors, and other entities. The company also served as the point organization to coordinate information and facilitate communication between the client and construction team, by providing detailed construction documents, electric and mechanical plans, and assistance with solicitation of contractor bids.

Results

Locals recognize the BDC’s new office space as one of the best office spaces in Baltimore. The public spaces are welcoming and represent the organization’s commitment to building a better business environment in Baltimore.

Unique Lessons Learned

PERISTYLE worked with the organization’s representatives to create an environment that demonstrated that Baltimore is good for business. The city’s reputation had been tarnished. PERISTYLE had to realize the BDC’s vision in a way that would leave a lasting impression on the BDC’s visitors, government officials, and staff.
